Variables

You can use variables in certain configuration fields to represent values specific to a given user. Any field that supports variables displays a list of supported variables if you type $ in the field.

Use account variables to substitute information about an account, such as an Exchange account.

Variable

Description

${sAMAccountName}

The logon name used in LDAP to support clients and servers running older versions of the Windows operating system.

${userDisplayName}

The text displayed to identify the account.

${userDN}

The value that uniquely identifies the user in the LDAP directory (i.e., distinguished name).

${userEmailAddress}

The email address associated with the user account.

${userFirstName}

The user's given name.

${userLastName}

The user's surname.

${userLocale}

The home geographic location/language for the user.

${userUID}

The unique identifier used internally by LDAP.

${username}

The string used to identify the user.

${userUPN}

The Internet-style login name for a user. (The UPN is shorter than the distinguished name.)

${deviceClientDeviceIdentifier}

The unique device identifier generated by the device management app.

${deviceIMEI}

The International Mobile Equipment Identity assigned to the device. This number uniquely identifies the mobile device.

${deviceIMSI}

The International Mobile Subscriber Identity assigned to the home cellular network for the device.

${devicePK}

The unique device identifier generated by the device management service.

${deviceSN}

The serial number assigned to the device.

${deviceUDID}

The unique identifier assigned to the device by the manufacturer.

${deviceWifiMacAddress}

The Media Access Control address that uniquely identifies the network interface on the device.

${deviceMdmDeviceIdentifier}

The unique device identifier generated by the Apple MDM function.
